As for an update on Lucy's status with CF... We had an appointment last Monday (I forgot to mention this earlier in the blog) at the CF Clinic where we met with both Dr. Ricker (Pulmonologist) & Dr. Abdullah (GI). The were both incredibly happy with how well Lucia's doing. Her growth is remarkable - she's now 15lbs. 11oz. & 25.3 inches! That puts her in the 97% for length, 96% for weight & the weight to length ratio was 64%! (Weight to length they want over 50% & thought it would take 6 months to get there, we're already above!) The only change made was by Dr. Abdullah making her Zantac three times a day instead of just twice. He feels it's most effective for 8 hrs, so three times a day makes for more consistent acidity within the stomach. The Zantac causes the stomach to be at an acidity that's better for enzymes to work in. We'll see both doctors in a month. As usual, they were both wonderful & it was good to see the smiling familiar faces of the Mary Bridge CF Clinic.
